Hello....is anyone out there? I wouldn't blame you if you quit checking my blog, since its been such a LONG time since I posted. Well, I could give you all kinds of excuses, but, I won't bore you with the day to day issues. More importantly, I want to share some pictures from two classes I took this last Sunday at French General in Los Angeles.
French General is a store filled to the brim with treasures. If you have never been there and are in the Los Angeles area, its a MUST GO! Allow yourself at least a couple of hours to browse.
I was there to take two classes, the first with Molly Meng (Kaari's sister from San Francisco) and Kaari also taught us how to make adorable beaded earrings. We altered an old book into a treasure box with Molly. I haven't finished mine, so I will have to post pics later of my book. Here is a picture of Molly and Kaari, who are terrific instructors and fun ladies!
The second class was taught by one of my favorite ladies, Charlotte Lyon, who managed (after two days of flight cancellations) to make it out to Southern California from New York. Even though it was a rainy day, Charlotte brought sunshine in her sweet disposition and taught us a class using fabrics, threads and stitching to make a "love" banner.
Here is my banner, which still needs more layering and finishing, but I wanted to show you my "work in progress".
A group of my dear friends and I all joined up for a day of crafting at French General. Here's a picture of our "rockin" table group with Charlotte.

Joy Campbell was to join us but wasn't feeling well that day. We missed you Joy!
....and, much to my surprise, look who was in class.....
Julie Baxley. It was SO good to see her and give her a big hug. Julie has recently experienced a fire in her home and lost her fur babies, so I was so glad to see that she came out to LA for a little getaway to take the classes at French General.
I'll leave you with a few candid pics of our table group.
